🔹Alt text will make your image more accessible to people who are less able to see well, and those that cannot see.
🔹You’ve got 300 characters on LinkedIn to describe your image with an Alt text. Now that’s pretty generous, and LinkedIn will be able to understand what your post is about (and show your post to more people that might be interested in it).
🔹Alt text also helps with SEO, which means you get a double-tick for creating content that:
✅is not a block or “wall” of text – as we want it nice and skimmable, please
✅uses a searchable keyword for your image description – so it comes up on an image search too
Here’s the 270 character Alt text for this image:
A bottle labelled with “Hard to swallow pills” on the top half of the image. The bottom half of the image shows a hand holding 3 white pills in its palm and another hand pointing at the pills. The slogan reads “SEO helps you rank on Google, But you can’t build it overnight”
(Also memes make the internet go round; you can create one, as I did above, on imgflip memegenerator)
