Wow, I’ve been a registered pharmacist for 10 years. That is wild!
Over the past 10 years I have:
– worked in community pharmacies in London
– trained future pharmacists
– run a travel health & vaccination clinic, and helped other pharmacies set them up
– become a medical copywriter
– trained future medical writers
– created health information videos about first aid and travel health as Pharmacist Virginia (and got PIF TICK certified!)
– launched multiple YouTube channels and published hundreds of videos (including 13 on the NHS YouTube & Instagram channels!)
– coached people & ran workshops on how to create health information videos too
– become an evidence checker for pages on the NHS.uk that millions of people read (which is so cool!)
– assessed people who create health information to ensure it’s evidence-based, accessible and regularly reviewed as part of Patient Information Forum (PIF)‘s PIF TICK certification scheme
– become part of an awesome health creator community through YouTube
– become part of World Health Organization‘s WHO Fides
– become part of CHAIN as part of the Fleming Initiative for antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
I would never have dreamed I am where I am today, and it has been awesome!
I wanted to remind anyone reading this that your career can take you anywhere you want it to go. The world is full of opportunities, you just have to be open to trying something new.
I am grateful for everyone I’ve crossed paths with along the way and I’m excited to see what happens in the next 10 years!
