Can’t remember what you called that document?
You need a naming convention.
As a copywriter, I produce a lot of digital documents. It’s paramount that I organise them in a way that is easy to find.
Otherwise, I would waste a lot of time trying to find documents, rather than actually writing them.
😎 Here’s a naming convention I like to use for my file names:
Title of document_Client name_My name_Date
😍 So if I’m looking for that script I wrote for the NHS about sunscreen, it will look like this:
Sunscreen script_NHS_Virginia Chachati_April 2023
And this document will be kept in a folder titled “NHS Scripts 2023”, which will be easy to search for too.
Clients definitely appreciate an organised writer, so I implore you to adopt a naming convention you like and stick to it!
It’s the little things, like the name of a document or email subject lines, that make it easier to work with you.
How do you organise your documents?
